Part 3. Groups

When two or more stones of the same color are placed next to each other, they become a "group". The stones must be right next to each other. Diagonals don't count! In this tutorial, we'll also call a single stone by itself a group, it will just be a group with only one stone. Here are some example groups:


A few example groups: Groups 1 and 2 are four-stone white groups; group 3 is a one-stone black group; groups 4 and 5 are a three-stone black groups; and group 6 is a five-stone white group.
